Dog grooming · Bristol
Fetch grooms one dog at a time, in a room with no cages and a biscuit budget that worries our accountant. Nervous dogs are our speciality; handsome ones are our output.
The gentle way
Most grooming stress isn't the scissors — it's the room: barking strangers, cage dryers, a queue of smells. So we removed the room. Your dog is the only dog here for their whole appointment, the dryer has two speeds (low and lower), and breaks happen whenever a break is needed.
It takes longer this way. Your dog has never once complained about that.
A visit, nose to tail
Same shape every time, because dogs like knowing the plan even more than you do.
Ten minutes of hellos, treats and a good sniff of the room before any water runs. First-timers get a whole free visit of just this.
Warm water, coat-matched shampoo, and a human who talks the whole way through. Ears stay dry; dignity stays intact.
Scissors and patience, styled to the coat and your actual life — 'low maintenance' is a fine answer and we'll say it back without judgement.
A photo for the fridge, honest notes on coat and nails, and the goodbye biscuit that makes next time easier than this time.
House rules
If the dog leaves scared, we did it wrong — no matter how good the haircut.
Prices
Doodle or dachshund, the price follows the coat in front of us. We'll confirm it at the meet-&-sniff before anything gets wet.
£0 20 minutes
Treats, sniffs, a pretend bath with no water and a triumphant exit. The whole point is next time.
£38 about an hour
The full wash, dry and brush-out, plus nails if they'll let us.
£58 up to two hours
Bath, cut, tidy and the good cologne (optional, dogs vote no).
From the humans
My rescue shakes at the vet, the park and occasionally at leaves. She pulls TOWARDS this door. I don't know what happens in there and I've decided not to ask.
They told me my doodle's cut would cost more because of the coat, showed me why with a comb, and finished under the quote. Adults run this place.
The fridge photo is better than my wedding photos. The dog agrees.
Book
One dog at a time means the diary is honest — book ahead, and tell us anything that helps (nervous, new, hates the noise of velcro; we've heard it all).
Visitors pick a date and time here, then leave their details.
The studio
Gloucester Road, ground floor — the glass we've stopped cleaning at dog height, on principle.
